My sons and I play here fairly often, the staff is kind and friendly. Scheduling and communication around hours and feild time are inconsistent and poorly executed. We have arrived more than a few times to play and they are not open despite showing open hours on their google business page and website.

These airsoft centers are an untapped goldmine for lawsuits, as adults of all ages can shoot at minors of all ages (while they return fire upon those adults) inflicting bleeding welts in a dark arena of darkly-painted mazes made from flimsy plywood walls and netting. That no adult has had to defend any claims (real or otherwise) in court from a minor, or an adult has succumbed to harm or demise from minors - who aren't yet legally accountable - is remarkable. This is essentially a ticking-timebomb for such an event which would permanently close this business, and blossom new regulations regarding all airsoft centers to address adults inflicting harm upon unattended kids, in a darkened room, in a maze where other possible creepy things - imagined or real -could also occur! After three hours it that arena, every adult and kid sustained reddened and bleeding pelts inflicted upon each other aged 8 to 80 (yes, one dude was ready for a walker). I sustained wounds (and a tasty shot to the balls) inflicted from an 11 year-old girl. And returned fire likewise no malice intended (I hope), but lucky to escape claims from an angry parent that might have thought otherwise, right? While wargames are in progress, no one is minding the large retail area with hanging merchandise on shelves and in cabinets! Customers bring in thousands of dollars of privately-owned airsoft stuff plopped on unattended tables, quite easy to intentionally or accidentally walk out with. If you like paying $75 for a true sadomasochistic experience and inflicting the same on kids (or getting in a sticky lawsuit) - this is the perfect place to do it. Not since the Victorian age can you inflict harm hundreds of times on random underage kids (taking aim with a gun to hurl plastic pellets at 390 fps) - and get away with it. Teachers cannot advise your kids, but strangers can shoot them with BB's. I will avoid future sadomasochistic torture and possible future legal disasters by shooting at an outdoor or indoor target range at my property. My paper targets don't shoot back, and I won't have someone else's kids yelling "You shot my eye out!" Or "Now I only have a left half chance of being a father, mister!"

Excellent service, I remember Micah and Isaiah pretty well, they're really helpful and are willing to help you out if you need something. They have a wide variety of electric, gas and spring guns.

Incredibly helpful staff. I don’t understand all the hate for their pricing - how do you expect a place to stay in business; pay staff, pay rent, pay to stay within California regulations and insurance rates? This place was great.

Very disappointing experience with the Asian Manager. My nephew had been looking at a specific gun at Modern Airsoft Oceanside for a few weeks and went out to do a bunch of chores saving up some money to buy a specific hand gun. When he went in to buy it with me the Asian manager said unfortunately the gun was in the wrong place with the wrong tag and it would cost and additional $35…. Which he did not have. The manager tried to spin my nephew into a cheaper gun or buy the gun he originally wanted for more money because “it was the right thing to do”… Trying to make my nephew, feel guilty. Absolutely terrible thing to do to a young newer customer… he will never be back. Keep in mind the only difference between the two guns was color.
The only reason I’m giving a 2 star and not 1 is because on past purchases some of the other employees including Isaiah have been great to work with.

Referees here are no good anymore, especially the one tonight, besides him forcing game modes no one wants to play for the last matches, we also asked if we could have the lights on while we pack our stuff since it was pitch black inside, “nope can do that” he said, I couldn’t see anything while packing up. we’re guest here and paying to be here, how inconsiderate can you be? The only good referee here who shows appreciation to his guest is Isaiah.

I used to enjoy going to Modern Airsoft, but Micah has completely ruined the experience for me and many others. He talks to customers like he doesn’t care and sells gear that often breaks the same day you buy it. I’ve seen someone try to return a defective item and only get $50 in store credit for something they just paid $180 for — then the store turned around and sold it for $150.
Micah also cheated a 15-year-old kid out of a trade-in. The kid had a $260 gun and was trading toward a $300 SSG-1, and Micah only gave him $80 for it — then sold that same gun for around $200.
To make things worse, Micah shows clear favoritism when reffing games, giving unfair calls and letting certain players slide while being strict with others. On top of that, he actively takes sales away from his coworkers just to prevent them from earning the commission they were promised when hired. It’s toxic, selfish, and unprofessional.
They also remove parts from products (like the indoor spring from the Gen 4 Lancer Predator) just to sell them separately.
The only reason I still go is because of Isaiah (Zay) — he’s helpful, respectful, and the only one who makes the place worth visiting. If he leaves, I won’t be back.
I miss the old people that worked there...
